I was raised in the Southwest and now based in the Pacific Northwest. Soda and wood firings is a traditional style of firing pottery that is chaotic and sensitive to the weather, fuel, clay types, and personalities firing the kilns. Like atmospheric firings, I am deeply affected by my immediate environment and am inspired by mine and my neighbors’ gardens. My current work is focused on conscientious firings and glaze chemistries.
